What Will You Create Today?

"The power for creating a better future is contained in the present moment: You create a good future by creating a good present."

Eckhart Tolle

Imagine that it’s Friday, the end of millions of hard working individuals work week.  You are luckily one of those millions.  You have put in a great week of work.  You have gotten a lot of things completed.  Some of it was planned and a large number of it was unplanned.  You deserve the next two days off.  You deserve to spend some time doing things you want to do.  You can spend time with the family.   You can read that book that is on your nightstand.  You can work on your favorite hobby that you’ve been neglecting.  You can also just vegetate and watch enormous hours of television.  The choice is yours and you’ve earned it.  Yet there is something you need to consider before you make that choice.  Since you don’t have the duties of your M-F job this weekend you have the free time to do something exceptional that we are all blessed to be able to do.  You can decide to create something.

Creative or Creator

Usually when someone is described as creative you think of someone in the arts.  Those people have the ability to play music, write, draw, act, or sculpt.  They are called creative because of their talent of taking an idea from their head and making it into a tangible product.  They can take an idea of story and make it into a book.  They can take a picture inside their head and draw it on a canvas.  They can imagine a melody and create a beautiful melody to dance to.  They can take a log from the ground and make it into a beautiful sculpture.  These people have a talent that isn’t shared by many.  However we all share the foundation of that talent.  You may not be able to paint a picture like Picasso but you do have the ability to transfer a blank piece of paper into a color wonderland.  You can write some sentences on a blank piece of paper and create an essay that did not exist 30 minutes ago.  You can grab your mobile phone and record yourself beating on the wall in the tempo of an imaginary drum for us all to dance to.  We all may not wear the badge of creative but we all have the ability to create.

Everything we create is not always a tangible object either.  As human beings we can create intangible things like visions, strategies, goals or environments.  We can create an emotion in another human being just by giving them a look or saying a kind word.  We can create loyalty from a team member just by being loyal to them.  We can also create anger or hate just by being disrespectful or ignoring another person.  We can create determination by watching a motivational movie or listening to an informative podcast.  We can create love and support just by being present for our children’s, family or friend’s special event.  It is easy to bet that you will create something today whether you know it or not.  As a human being it is inevitable that you will create many things in your lifetime.

However, too many of us end up creating things unknowingly or unintentionally.  When you do this you are most likely creating something you wish you hadn’t created.  You may create something unexpected and when it arrives you aren’t ready to handle it properly.  To avoid these unwelcomed circumstances you need to be very deliberate in your creations.  You should always seek to create the things that you want in life and never settle for hoping or praying they will come.  If you want to have a great marriage then you need to create one.  If you want to have a great career then you need to create one.  If you want to have a large bank account and financial freedom then you need to create one.  If you want to feel pride in helping someone less fortunate then you need to create that outcome.  If you want to leave something on this earth that didn’t exist before you were born then you need to create it.  I’m sure you have one of those desires and hopefully you are taking action to create it.

How to Create

What kind of actions do you need to take to exercise your power to create?  There are several but let’s talk specifically about a few.  First and foremost you need to set goals around the things you want to create.  This is how you take control of what you create.  Without goals you just let life happen.  You don’t control outcomes.  You go around saying “it is what it is.”  That is actually a true statement but what is also true is that you can directly impact “what it is” by setting and accomplishing goals.  Once you set a goal then you create a plan and take action on that plan.  This is not always a simple exercise.  Sometimes you don’t know what to plan because you don’t know what actions to take.  Don’t let not knowing what to do stop you from taking action.  When you really don’t know what to do and can’t find someone to help, do the next best thing, experiment.  Use your inner intuition and just try something.  Take some kind of action and measure the results.  Based on what happens decide what next step you need to take.  This may not be the easiest route but with every experience you will learn something you can use toward trying to achieve your goal.  I know you know the story of the light bulb.  It took Thomas Edison 1000 tries before he successfully created a working light bulb.  What have you tried 1000 times and still couldn’t achieve?  I’m sure that list isn’t very long.  But even if it took you 2000 times the end result would be worth it.  You would have achieved your goal.

It takes action to create something and you own your actions.  As the daily reminder displays what you believe will drive what you think.  What you think will determine how you feel.  How you feel will impact the actions that you take.  The actions that you take will determine the results that you get.  Creating something is an action in itself.  Whether it is intentional or unintentional anything that you have created is a result of your actions.  Right now you need to believe that tomorrow morning you will be Reborn.  You will have one more day of wisdom to use on your creations.  You need to also believe that you are Divinely Powerful because you are born in the likeness of your creator.  You have a great gift inside of you because God, Allah, Yaw, the Universe or whatever term you use is inside you.  That power allows you to create.  You need to Think about the Abundance in this world and all the creations that are created every day.  There will be an infinite amount and you are destined to add to that total.  You need Be Grateful for the fact that you can create.  Humans are really unique in this power and that is something to be grateful for at any time.  You need to act Decisively Intent and decide on what creations you intend to create.  Lastly you need to just go out and create because you can.  You are a creator and Creators Create. Yes that is the Daily Reminder and it is a habit you need to incorporate into your success. Create the pathway for you to follow it. As always I wish you the best and remind you to enjoy the journey.

With Gratitude,

Drew
